The Ohio State University Extension in Summit County is offering a series of one-day workshops for professionals in horticulture and agriculture, starting Jan. 29.
The programs will cover such topics as identifying trees, diagnosing pests, growing organically and pruning trees and shrubs. Details and a mail-in registration form are at http://summit.osu.edu. (Click on ''Horticulture'' on the left side of the page and then ''2010 Program Guide.'')
Classes will be at Furnace Run Metro Park in Richfield Township, Richfield Fellowship Hall and Secrest Arboretum in Wooster Township. Continuing education credits are available for many of the sessions.
