Anthurium adds colour to Mizoram's flora

Aizawl, Jul 8 : Mizoram, with its moderate climate , has become the largest Anthurium flower producer in India.

The state-produces 'best quality' Anthurium highly demanded within the country and abroad.

At present, more than 70 varieties of Anthurium floweers are cultivated and more than 400 growers are engaged in it, said horticulture director Samuel Rosanglura. ''Under the technology mission programme more areas are being covered to be able to meet the global market’s demand,'' Mr Rosanglura added.
