Started in 1989, the mission of the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden is to display the diverse plant life of the Mediterranean climate zones of the world and to provide opportunities for education, recreation, conservation and research.The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden is located on Highway 1 in El Chorro Regional Park, between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. The Preview Garden is open daily during daylight hours. Admission is free. The business office and gift shop are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Parking at El Chorro Regional Park is $2 during the summer months.
