Floriculture first took birth in England about two centuries before where flowers were grown in large estates for commercial reasons. Soon it was taken up seriously by many other countries as well. The floral industry today has grown by leaps and bounds and includes various other aspects other than growing flowers. In India, Floriculture industry comprises flower trade, production of nursery plants and potted plants, seed and bulb production, and extraction of essential oils.
