Bandhara at Khadki affecting horticulture

KERI: Farmers have raised fears that the incomplete vasant bandhara being constructed by the water resources department may pose a serious threat to the horticulture plantations in Khadki village of Sattari as it leads to flooding of river banks and also causes erosion. "The lack of understanding of the topography while building the bandhara has transformed it into an eye sore. It has been causing us losses for the last three years," says Baburao Anasaheb Rane, an aggrieved horticulturist from Khadki, explaining how the trees in his property have been affected by soil erosion.
