It's a wonder our yard isn't as slick as a peeled onion. Last time I looked — oh, maybe 30 seconds ago — 10 teenage geese and four parental guardians were inspecting the place, heads-down, for the umpteenth time this morning. Evidently in search of a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit.

The presents they leave behind have gotten larger and larger. (Contrary to what you may have heard, Matt's arms have gotten shorter and shorter and have lost their effect. He also has encouraged them to forage on somebody else's dime so long that he's lost his voice, too.)
Meanwhile, I've been doing a lot of step dancing in the yard. And reluctantly cutting back — and I do mean cutting back — the very vines I fertilized earlier this spring, including red honeysuckle, trumpet and yellow jessamine. When that trio gets going, it's headed to Fort Lawn and beyond.
