Addis Ababa, June 23 (WIC) – The Ethiopian Horticulture Development Agency announced that 138 million USD was earned from flower, vegetable, fruit and herbs exported during the past 11 months.
Director General of the Agency, Hailesilasse Tekae, told WIC that of the total income, 118 million USD was obtained from the 1.2 billion flower sticks exported to various countries.
He said 20 million USD was secured from the over 43,000 tons of vegetable, fruit and herbs supplied to overseas markets in the reported period.
According to the director, Ethiopia is exporting its flowers to 40 countries.
