Once again, spring arrived and I looked forward to new beginnings and a great kitchen garden season. But this year I vowed things would be different. I hadn't spent the winter months as usual, planning and dreaming about a garden filled with several varieties of each vegetable on my plant list. After all, I was still making do with shelf paper covered plywood and old pieces of counter on the new kitchen cabinets. Installation of the new counter had been delayed; some base cabinets needed to be removed so a buckling, "floating vinyl floor" could be glued down. More importantly, last years garden fiasco was still fresh in my mind!
