I am often asked what my favorite plants are and what I grow at home. I struggle to answer because I like to try to grow many plants. Some plants don't always grow, but experimenting is fun for me. My favorite flower is the lilac, but I also like hydrangeas, clematis, dahlias -- anything with blue flowers -- and I love sedums.
Since my interests are so wide-ranging, I will highlight just a few of the plants that I have been able to grow successfully at my house:
Campanulas or bellflowers: These cup or bell-shaped flowers bloom mid-June to September and grow in well-drained soil and full to part sun. There are several varieties ranging from low, mounding plants to tall blooming stalks that can reach three feet in height.
