A Day in the Life of the Main Street Van Wert Program Manager

When Seth Baker moved away from the family farm west of Ohio City, he didn't think he would be back to stay. After graduating from Crestview High School, then leaving for Ohio State University to study horticulture, he discovered the interaction between plants and communities.

Main Street Van Wert's new Program Manager took a winding road to get back home. Baker remembered, "I was in horticulture, which is the study of plants. Originally I just wanted to own my own nursery and landscaping business. But then when I was in school I discovered something called landscape architecture, which I had never heard of. That really focuses on the broader picture.
