| Recently, my editor, a bit of an urban forager himself, inquired about whether or not I was interested in profiling mulberry trees. Now I was aware that they were in season, but they really weren't on my radar — I'm more of a root-around-in-the-dirt weed person than a bush or tree lady. So we put out a call for Locals' favorite Morus rubra or Morus alba, and received responses from readers reminiscing about much beloved-trees-of-yore to general orneriness over the messy abundance of the fruit.
